Hope For Heather

Updated: Jan 18, 2021

October 2019 - Fulton, NY

The Fulton Girls Volleyball team hosted a volleyball tournament called Spike Teal for ovarian cancer awareness. Ovarian cancer became an issue for this team when their coach Caroline Richardson was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. See Caroline Richardson's ovarian cancer story.

The girls under the direction of Pat Hanlon and a team of volunteers, raised over $24,000 for ovarian cancer research and local awareness since inception in 2015. The one day Spike Teal tournament featured volleyball, raffle baskets and donations from local businesses. The planned 2020 event was cancelled due to COVID-19 safety.
