Grants

Hope for Heather is a 100% volunteer organization; We are so proud of what our volunteers have accomplished in Central New York. Hope for Heather targets 40% of the money raised each year to Ovarian Cancer Research. You can see each year's grant below. As of April 30, 2022 our volunteers have raised $550,000 for research.

The funds are used for selected research projects that support 4 areas of research:

  • Improved treatment methods using existing medications

  • New treatment approaches using immunotherapy

  • Research to find an reliable screening test

  • New discoveries targeted at finding a cure

We use the research board of the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance to review and select the most promising candidates from dozens of research funding proposals. Then we direct the funds raised in CNY for researchers in the clinical areas shown above.
