By the Family of Laurie (from obituary)

We would like to thank all of our friends for their wonderful support as Laurie fought her courageous battle with ovarian cancer over the past seven years.

On Monday, January 29, 2024, her beloved angels came down to bring Lorraine M. “Laurie” (Bono) Siniscarco, age 70, home to her heavenly father. She was comforted by the presence of her husband, Joe, and her sister, Barb. She was also in the hearts of her daughters.

Lorraine was the daughter of the late Joseph and Susan (Pricola) Bono. A native Utican, she was born on August 5, 1953. Laurie attended local schools, received her B.S. from Utica College and her M.S. from SUNY Cortland. She was an Occupational Therapist who started her career at rehab facilities before transitioning to higher education. She spent over 25 years as an Assistant Professor at Herkimer County Community College where she served as both Department Chair and Fieldwork Coordinator for the Occupational Therapy Assistant program. Upon her retirement, she was bestowed the honor of Professor Emeritus.

On May 21, 1977, Laurie married the love of her life, Joseph Siniscarco, and they started their family. She was a loving mother who was an example of strength, support, courage, and compassion to her daughters. When she was blessed with the birth of her grandson, he embraced her heart and life.
She was a lifelong member of the St. Mary of Mt. Carmel congregation. In 2021, Laurie and Joe were presented the Syracuse Diocese Immaculata Award in recognition for their faith and dedicated service to their parish community.

Laurie is survived by her devoted husband, Joe; daughter, Krista Siniscarco; daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Mark Williams; most cherished grandson, Callan Williams; amazing sister, Barbara Snell and the late James P. Snell; mother-in-law, Jessie Siniscarco; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Mary Siniscarco; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; childhood friend of decades, Yvonne D’Arts; as well as many close friends.
