Abby Hoag Birthday Party
Abby Hoag had a 13th birthday, unlike most 13th birthday parties there were
no presents. Abby asked all her friends to donate to the Ovarian Cancer Research
Fund instead of giving presents to her. The party was a held at a local laser
tag facility. The owners, after hearing about Abby's unusual request donated
the complete facility including multiple rounds of laser tag for all in attendance.
Abby said she request this birthday because one of her first dance instructors
at Tawn Marie's' Dance Center was Heather Weeks. Abby was so hurt by Heather's
untimely death she decided to do whatever she could to support the cause Heather
was so passionate about, Ovarian Cancer research, education and early detection.
News 10 now, a Time Warner company, sent Kat Di Maria, videographer to capture
the event. See the video story that appeared on the air. Abby
